The ratio of Mamta and Shaily's savings = 5:3

Let's consider,

Savings of Mamta was 5x and Shaily 3x

Mamta spent Rs24

Now she had Rs (5x-240)

Shaily saved Rs 160

Now according the question,

Total saving of Mamta and Shaily is now equal.

So we can consider now,

(5x-240)=(3x+160)

5x-3x=160+240=400

2x=400

x=400÷2=200

Now the savings of Mamta was 5×200 = Rs 1000

Shaily's savings was

3×200 = Rs 600

Ans) At first Mamta's savings was Rs 1000 and Shaily's savings was Rs 600
