Solution :-

Given : The ratio of mother's age to daughter's age is 4 : 1

The product of their ages is 196.

Let the age of mother and daughter be 4x and x respectively.

According to the question,

=> 4x × x = 196

=> 4x² = 196

=> x² = 196/4

=> x² = 49

=> x² = 7²

=> x = 7

Hence,

The age of mother = 4x = 4 × 7 = 28 years.

Answer :

28 years

Step By Step Explanation:

Given :

Ratio of mother's age to daughter's age = 4 : 1

And, Product of their ages = 196.

Now,

Let the age of mother be 4k .

And, the age of daughter be k .

According To The Condition:

⇒ 4k × k = 196

⇒ 4k² = 196

⇒ k² = 196/4

⇒ k² = 49

⇒ k² = 7²

⇒ k = 7 years

Therefore,

Age of daughter = k = 7 years.

Age of mother = 4k = 4 × 7 = 28 years.

Thus, The required mother's age is 28 years.
