Hello friend
-----------------

=) first understand the question.

In the question the ratio of present ages = 5:9

After 5 years ratio of their ages will be 3:5.

So let the common multiple be x.

hence,

=) 5x + 5/9x + 5 = 3/5

=) By cross multiplication

=) 25x + 25 = 27x + 15

=) 25 - 15 = 27x - 25x

=) 10 = 2x

=) x = 10/2

=). x = 5

Therefore,

The present age of Albert is 5x

= 5*5

= 25 years.

The present age of Salim is 9x

= 9*5

= 45 years.

I hope this will helps you.

Thanks.

Answer:-

Given that :-

  • The ratio of present ages of Albert and Salim is 5 : 9.

  • Five years hence ratio of their ages will be 3 : 5.

To find :-

  • Their Present Ages

\huge{\sf{\boxed{\boxed{Solution:}}}}

=> Let present age of Albert be 5x years.

=> Let present age of Salim be 9x years.

Therefore,

Five years later, age of Albert = (5x + 5) years.

Five years later, age of Salim = (9x + 5) years

\bold{A,T.Q,}

⇒ 5x + 5/9x + 5 = 3/5

⇒ 25x + 25 = 27x + 15

⇒ 27x – 25x = 25 – 15

⇒ 2x = 10

⇒ x = 10/2

⇒ x = 5

  • Present age of Albert = 5x = 5 × 5 = 25 years.

  • Present age of Salim = 9x = 9 × 5 = 45 years.
