Solution :

At present :

Ratio of Alpha and Jalpa = 5:7

Alpha age = 5x years

Jalpa age = 7x years

After 5 years :

Alpha age = ( 5x + 5 )years

Jalpa age = ( 7x+5 ) years

According to the problem given , we

get

( 5x+5 )/( 7x+5 ) = 3/4

=> 4(5x+5) = 3(7x+5)

=> 20x + 20 = 21x + 15

=> 20x - 21x = 15 - 20

=> -x = -5

=> x = 5

Therefore ,

At present :

Alpha age = 5x = 5×5 = 25 years

Jalpa age = 7x = 7×5 = 35 years
