let present ages of Rohan and Rahul be 5x and 3x respectively. according to question,
5x - 4 \div 3x + 4 = 1 \div 1
by solving we get X is equals to 4 then their present ages will be 20 and 12 respectively. therefore the ratio between given condition will be 24÷ 8= 3: 1.

Given:

  • The ratio of Rohans age 4 year's ago and Rahul's age 4 year's ago = 1:1
  • The present ratio of their ages = 5:3

To Find:

  • The ratio between Roham's age 4 years hence and Rahul's age 4 years ago.

Solution:

  • We have Rohan's and Rahul's present age ratio as 5:3
  • Rohan's present age is 5x
  • Rahul's present age is 3x.
  • So, \frac{5x-4}{3x+4} = \frac{1}{1} ⇒ 5x-4 = 3x+4
  • Separating the like terms and finding the value of x.
  • ⇒ 5x-3x = 4+4 ⇒ 2x = 8
  • x = 4
  • Rohan's present age = 5x = 5*4 = 20 years.
  • Rahul's present age = 3x = 3*4 = 12 years.

∴ The ratio between Roham's age 4 years hence and Rahul's age 4 years ago = (20+4)/(12-4) = 24/8 = 3/1 = 3:1
