Answer:-

Given:-

Ratio of ages of mother, father and their child = 8 : 10 : 3.

Let their ages be 8x , 10x & 3x years.

Sum of ages of mother and father = 72 years

So,

⟹ 8x + 10x = 72

⟹ 18x = 72

⟹ x = 72/18

⟹ x = 4

Now,

Difference between father's age and child's age = 10x - 3x = 7x

⟹ Difference between father's age and child's age = 7(4) = 28 years.

Father's age - Child's age = 28 years.

Given :-

  • The ratio of the ages of a mother, father and their child is 8:10:3 .
  • The sum of the ages of the father and the mother is 72 years .

To Find :-

  • The difference in the ages of the father and his child ?

Answer :-

Let us assume that, ages of mother , father and their child is 8x years , 10x years and 3x years respectively .

so,

→ sum of ages of father and mother = 72 years .

→ 10x + 8x = 72

→ 18x = 72

→ x = 4 years .

then,

  • Mother age = 8x = 8 * 4 = 32 years.
  • Father age = 10x = 10 * 4 = 40 years .
  • Child age = 3x = 3 * 4 = 12 years .

therefore,

→ Father age - Child age = 40 - 12 = 28 years (Ans.)
