Step-by-step explanation:

let x be father and y be mother age

at birth of son= 9:8

when sons age would be double of present age=17:16

from both given it is 8 difference of both=17-9=8

16-8=8

so sons present age =8/2=4 years

present ratio of father and mother=9+4:8+4=13:12
