To Find :

  • Area of largest triangle.

Solution :

  • Ratio of corresponding sides of the two similar triangles is 2:3 = 2/3
  • Area of smallest triangle = 64cm²

By property of two similar Triangles :-

Ratio of areas of both triangles = (Ratio of corresponding sides)²

Let the area of largest triangle be x cm²

›› 64/x = (2/3)²

›› 64/x = 4/9

›› 64 × 9 = 4x

›› 576 = 4x

›› x = 576/4

›› x = 144cm²

Hence

  • Area of largest triangle is 144cm²
