The ratio of the income to the savings of a family is 15:4 find the expenditure if the saving is rs.2800 solve it also

the expenditure means salary minus savings , so , let x be the ratio number ,
15x - 4x = expenditure
11x=expenditure
so ,
4x (the savings ) = 2800
x=700
so ,expenditure = 11x
= 11 × 700
= 7700 rupees

income/2800 = 15/4
then,
income = 2800*15/4
               = 42000/4
                 = 10500
income - saving = expenditure
