area of trapezium=1/2×h(a+b)

let a is 5x& b is 3x

area=480cmsq

height=12cm

480=1/2×12(5x+3x)

480=6(8x)

480=48x

x=10cm

lengths of parallel sides are:

a=5x=5(10)=50

b=3x=3(10)=30
