Step-by-step explanation:

father's present age = 7x

son's present age = 2x

father's age after 10 years = 7x + 10

son's age after 10 years = 2x + 10

as per the given condition

(7x + 10)/(2x + 10) = 9/4

=> 4(7x + 10) = 9(2x + 10)

=> 28x + 40 = 18x + 90

=> 10x = 50

=> x = 5

therefore father's present age = 7x => = 35 years

son's present age = 2x => = 10 years
