the ratio of the present age of pawan and sushil is 7:2. after 8 years, the ratio of their ages will be 5:2. find the present age

let present age of pawan be 7x.
so , the present age of sushil is 2x.
now,
after 8 years , the age of pawan will be = 8+7x
while that of sushil = 8+2x
it is given that the ratio of their ages if 5 :2
so...  8 +7x /8+2x = 5 /2
so , x= 6 years
so present age of pawan = 7x = 7 * 6 =42
and that of sushil = 2x = 2 * 6 = 12...

Here is your solution

Given :-

ratio of the present age of pawan and sushil is 7:2
After 8 year it becomes ratio 5:2

present age of pawan and sushil is 7x and 2x

A/q

 \frac{7x + 8}{2x + 8} = \frac{5}{2} \\ \\ 14x + 16 = 10x + 40 \\ 14x - 10x = 40 - 16 \\ 4x = 24 \\ x = 6

Hence

present age of pawan =7x=7×6=42 years

present age of sushil =2x=2×6=12 years
