ratio of speed of two vehicles =2:38
or 1:19

speed of second vehicle =72/2 kmph
=36kmph
if 19x=36
=> x = 1.89
therefore speed of first vehicle is 1.89 kmph

Hey there !

Solution:

Let the speeds be x and y

So x : y = 2 : 38

So Distance covered by 2nd vehicle = 72 km in 2 hrs

=> Speed of 2nd vehicle ( y ) = 72 / 2 = 36 km/hr.

So y = 36 km/hr.

=> x : 36 = 2 : 38

Product of Means = Product of extremes.

=> x * 38 = 36 * 2

=> 38 x = 72

=> x = 72 / 38

=> x = 36 / 19 = 1.89

Therefore speed of 1st vehicle ( x ) = 36 / 19 km/hr or 1.89 km/hr

Hope my answer helped !
