given ratio between two numbers is 3 : 4

ATQ, if 7 is reduced from both the numbers, then the ratio becomes 2 : 3

let the numbers be 3x and 4x respectively.

subtracting 7 from both numbers we get,

(3x - 7) and (4x - 7)

➡ (3x - 7)/(4x - 7) = 2/3

cross multiplying

➡ 3(3x - 7) = 2(4x - 7)

➡ 9x - 21 = 8x - 14

➡ 9x - 8x = -14 + 21

➡ x = 7

hence, the numbers are :-

  • 3x = 3 × 7 = 21

  • 4x = 4 × 7 = 28

\huge\underline\textbf{Answer:-}

\tiny\textbf{3 : 4 is the Ratio given between two numbers </p><p>:-}

\tiny\textbf{7 is reduced from both the numbers,hence  the ratio now is 2 : 3:-}

\tiny\textbf{Let  3x and 4x be the numbers:-}

Let us subtract 7 from both the numbers:-

=&gt;(3x - 7),(4x - 7)

=&gt;(3x - 7)/(4x - 7) = 2/3

Cross multiplication:-

=&gt;3(3x - 7) = 2(4x - 7)

=&gt;9x - 21 = 8x - 14

=&gt;9x - 8x = -14 + 21

=&gt;x = 7

Therefore, the both numbers are:-

=&gt;3x = 3 × 7 = 21

=&gt;4x = 4 × 7 = 28
