let the common factor of the ratio be x .
so ,
vishal's age=3x, Neelu's age= 5x
sum of their ages= 80 yrs
= 3x+5x=80
=8x=80
=x=80/8
=10 yrs
Therefore, vishal's age=3×x=3×10 yrs=30 yrs.
similarly, Neelu's age= 5x= 5×x=5×10 yrs= 50 yrs..
