Answer:

ratio is = 5:3

Then...

5x + 3x = 900 gm

8x = 900gm

x= 900/8

x= 112.5 gm

Now put the value of X in 5x and 3x, you will get both metals mass..

Answer

Weight of copper in brass =5×112.5=562.5 gm

Weight of zinc in brass =3×112.5=337.5 gm

Step-by-step explanation:

Let proportionality constant be 'x'

then, weight of copper =5 x

and weight of zinc =3 x

As per the question

Weight of brass =900 gm

Weight of copper in brass + Weight of zinc in brass =900 gm

⇒5x+3x=900

⇒8x=900

⇒x=112.5

Hence, Weight of copper in brass =5×112.5=562.5 gm

Weight of copper in brass =5×112.5=562.5 gmWeight of zinc in brass =3×112.5=337.5 gm
