Let the no. of cars be x

According to qn,

x/10 + 1 = x/9

=> (x+10)/10 = x/9

=> 9x + 90 = 10x
=> x = 90

So, total number of cars now = 90+1 = 91

Yellow cars = 90/9 = 10

Hope it helped :-)

supersonu: prove it
supersonu: Listen x is total cars
supersonu: and 1/10 of it is yellow
abheshek040202: you have taken x as yellow cars
supersonu: no
supersonu: see carefully
abheshek040202: my ans is x = 8 and y = 80 so the ratio is 1/10 now add 1 to both x = 9 and y = 81 so now the ratio is 1/9
supersonu: but x = no of cars and hence this is the answer
abheshek040202: idk dude but thnx for your effort
supersonu: welcome check ans in book plz
