The ratios of the ages of sugandha and sunai is 4:5.twelve years hence, their

GIVEN :-

• Ratio of the present ages of Sugandha and Sonal is 4 : 5 .

• Twelve years hence , their ages will be in the ratio 5 : 6 .

TO FIND :-

• Sonal's age after 6 years

SOLUTION :-

 

  Let ,

   Present age of Sugandha = 4x

   Present age of Sonal = 5x

   12 years hence ,

   Age of Sugandha = 4x + 12

   Age of Sonal = 5x + 12

  According to the question ,

                  $\sf \dfrac{4x+12}{5x+12} = \dfrac{5}{6}$

    $\hookrightarrow \sf 6(4x+12)=5(5x+12) \\\\\hookrightarrow 24x +72 = 25x + 60\\\\\hookrightarrow 25x-24x = 72-60 \\\\\hookrightarrow\bf x = 12$

• Present age of Sonal = 5x

                                            = 60 years

• Age of Sonal after 6 years = 66 years
