Given :- The ratios of the areas of the bases of two geometrically similar buckets used to draw water from well is 4:9. The area of the top of the smaller bucket is 480 cm.sq.

To Find :- What is the area of the top of the larger bucket ?

Answer :-

Let us assume that, areas of the bases of two geometrically similar buckets is 4x and 9x cm² respectively .

so, according to given data,

→ 4x = 480 cm²

→ x = (480/4) = 120 cm²

then,

→ 9x = 120 * 9 = 1080 cm² (Ans.)

Hence, the area of the top of the larger bucket will be 1080 cm² .
