Let R1 = 40 ohm
R2 = 60 ohm
Equivalent Resistance R = R1 + R2
= 40 +60 = 100 ohm.
Given
V= 6 V
According to Ohm law
V= IR
- I = V/R
- I = 6/ 100
- I = .06 A
For 60 ohm Resistor
I = 0.06 A
R= 60 ohm
Ohm s law
V = IR
= 0.06× 60
= 3.6 V
Hence the reading of the voltmeter is = 3.6 v
