The refractive index of air with respect to glass is 2/3 and refractive index of water with respect to air is 4/3 . If speed of light in glass is 2×10 to the power 8 find speed of light in light I. (a) air and (b) water

(a)  n of air/n of glass = speed in glass/speed in air =2/3

so speed in air is 3/2 * 2*10^8 = 3*10^8    (n=refractive index)


(b) by same formula we get speed of light in water 9/4 * 10^8
