This means that the ratio of speed of light in air/vacuum and speed of light in diamond is 2.42

i.e. 1.23 × 108ms−1 (= 3 × 108 ms−1/2.42 ) compare to speed of light in vacuum C = 3 × 108 m s– 1

This means that speed of light in diamond is 2.42 times slower in diamond than in vacuum. .....Or it also means that light rays bend 2.42 times more when entering diamond. ....Both the explanation are correct.
