Given:

Relation between critical constant as 8P_{c} V_{c} = xRT_{c}

To Find:

What is value of x = ?

Solution:

We know from Compressibility-Factor (z) = \dfrac{PV}{nRT}

Equation at critical temperature T_{c} = \dfrac{8a}{27bR}

Critical pressure is pressure of the fluid at above critical temperature where liquid & gas do not distinct.

Equation at critical pressure P_{c} = \dfrac{a}{27b^{2} }

Critical Volume is Volume -occupied by gas at critical temp and pressure

Equation at critical Volume V_{c} = 3b

By equating all the equation we find value of the z = 3/8

\dfrac{8PV}{3RT}

x value is 3
