We know that,
V=IR
This implies that V is directly proportional to R
Hence, of V will be more, R will also be more. So
The resistance of a 100W bulb is less than a 40W bulb.

V= I×R or I = V/R

and W= VxI or W = VxV/R, or R = V× V/W

Now we know that V is Constant for example = 220 V

So that put the value of W and calculate R.

For 100W bulb - R = 220 x 220/ 100 = 484 ohm and for 40 W bulb , R = 220 x 220/ 40 = 1210 ohm
