V= I×R or I = V/R
and W= VxI or W = VxV/R, or R = V× V/W
Now we know that V is Constant for example = 220 V
So that put the value of W and calculate R.
For 100W bulb - R = 220 x 220/ 100 = 484 ohm and for 40 W bulb , R = 220 x 220/ 40 = 1210 ohm
