The resistance of a wire is 4 ohms.If length of wire is made double and area of cross section is made half. Then what is new resistance/

  • wire piece having length as 4 resistance unit ( Ohm) and resistance value when length is 2 times and cross section area as half. r = k* l/a where k is proportionality constant called specific resistance which is different material. So, new resistance is 1/4 of original value or reduced to 1/4th.
