Answer:

The value of each resistance will be 30 ohm and 20 ohm.

Explanation:

Given that,

Resistance in parallel = 12 ohm

Resistance in series = 50 ohm

Let us consider two resistance are R_{1} and R_{2}.

We know that,

The resistance in parallel

R_{p}=\dfrac{R_{1}R_{2}}{R_{1}+R_{2}}.....(I)

The resistance in series

R_{s}=R_{1}+R_{2}.....(II)

Multiplying equation (I) and equation (II)

R_{p}R_{s}=R_{1}R_{2}

R_{1}R_{2}=12\times50

R_{1}R_{2}=600

R_{1}=\dfrac{600}{R_{2}}

Put the value of R_{1} in equation (II)

R_{s}=\dfrac{600}{R_{2}}+R_{2}

R_{2}^2-50R_{2}+600=0

R_{2}=30\Omega,20\Omega

Hence, The value of each resistance will be 30 ohm and 20 ohm.
