Let's say individual resistance to be R1 and R2
so,
R1 + R2 = 40......(1)
R1R2/R1 + R2 = 6.5
R1R2/40 = 6.5
R1R2 = 6.5 x 40
R1R2 = 260
(R1 + R2)² = (R1 - R2)² + 4R1R2
(40)² = (R1 - R2)² + 4x260
1600 = (R1 - R2)² + 1040
1600 - 1040 = (R1 - R2)²
560 = (R1 - R2)²
24(approx) = (R1 - R2)........(2)
From (1) & (2) ---›
R1 + R2 = 40
R1 - R2 = 24
2R1 = 64
R1 = 32
R2 = 8
so,
R1 + R2 = 40......(1)
R1R2/R1 + R2 = 6.5
R1R2/40 = 6.5
R1R2 = 6.5 x 40
R1R2 = 260
(R1 + R2)² = (R1 - R2)² + 4R1R2
(40)² = (R1 - R2)² + 4x260
1600 = (R1 - R2)² + 1040
1600 - 1040 = (R1 - R2)²
560 = (R1 - R2)²
24(approx) = (R1 - R2)........(2)
From (1) & (2) ---›
R1 + R2 = 40
R1 - R2 = 24
2R1 = 64
R1 = 32
R2 = 8
