answer : option (A) 8Ω

first of all find the equivalent resistance.

two 4R resistors are joined in parallel combination. 1/R₁ = 1/4R + 1/4R

⇒R₁ = 2R

6R and 12R are joined in parallel combination.

1/R₂ = 1/6R + 1/12R = 3/12R = 1/4R

⇒R₂ = 4R

now R₁ , R₂ , two R's are joined in series combination.

Req = R₁ + R₂ + R + R = 2R + 4R + R + R = 8R

now use formula, P = V²/Req

⇒4 = (16)²/8R

⇒8R = 256/4 = 64

⇒R = 8Ω

hence option (A) is correct choice.
