The respective ratio of curved surface area and total surface area of a cylinder is 9 :16. if the curved surface area of the cylinder is 1584 cm2, what is its height

The total surface area is :

16/9 × 1584 = 2816

Curved surface area = 2πrh

2 × 22/7 × rh = 44/7rh

44/7rh = 1584

rh = 252

Total surface area :

2πrh + 2πr² = 2816

2 × 22/7 × 252 + 2 × 22/7 × r² = 2816

44/7r² = 2816 - 1584

44/7r² = 1232

r² = 1232 × 7/44

r² = 196

r = √196

r = 14

rh = 252

14h = 252

h = 252/14

h = 18 cm
