Let X be the required no.
According to the question,
3X + 5 = 4X -10
3X - 4X = -10 -5
-X = -15
X = 15 (minus and minus cancel)
Therefore, The number is 15.
Let see,
3X +5 = 4X -10
3 x 15 +5 = 4 × 15 -10
45 + 5 = 60 - 10
50 = 50
according to the question; LHS = RHS. proved
