Let x be the original number of sales,

So, the price of each good in march = \frac{40000}{x}

Now, after 20% off in April,

The price of each good in April = (100-20)% of \frac{40000}{x}

=\frac{80\times 40000}{100x}

=\frac{32000}{x}

Now, the number of goods in April  = 20% more than the original number of goods,

= (100+20)% of x

= 120% of x

=\frac{120x}{100}

=1.2x

Hence, the revenue in the month of April = number of goods × price of each good

=1.2x\times \frac{32000}{x}

= 38400
