The Revolt of 1857 is known by different names. Which terminology would you like to use for the Revolt of 1857 ? Why ?

The 1857 revolt was known by different names, For the British it was known as the out break of sepoy (Indian soliders) , for the Indians it was known as first war of independence, both British and Indian has different perspectives of the revolt

The terminology which could be used for the revolt would be "first step of India's independence" as this revolt made Indians realise the exploitation made by the British,it also helped India th gain Independence later on.
