No , the poet wasn't having any sense of regret he just wanted to take Both the paths which was not possible because at the back of his mind he knew that one path would lead to another and maybe he will never come back .

In the poem The Road Not Taken the poet has some sense of regret of why he choose to be a poet.

The two roads were occupations for his life. He choose to be a poet as he saw that this road (occupation) is not taken by many people.

He also thought that first to take that road and then he can come back and change that road. But later he knows that it is not possible.
