The Roman civilization lasted for
476 - (-509)
=476 + 509
=985 years

meenu5: bt its ans is 984 in the book.
QGP: Well, but thinking logically, we have 476 complete years after 0 AD and 509 complete years before 0 AD. Adding them we have 985 years
QGP: However, we can consider that the Roman Civilization began somewhere in the middle of 509 BC. If we don't count 509 BC as complete year, then you have your answer as 984 years
meenu5: hmmm k thku :)
