Given equation,

 \sf a {x}^{2}  + bx + c = 0

And,

The roots of the given equation are equal

So,

 \sf \Delta = 0

i.e.,Discrimant is equal to zero.

So,

 \sf x =  \frac{ - b \pm \sqrt{ {b}^{2}  - 4ac} }{2a}

 \sf =  \frac{ - b}{2a}

Thus,

Roots are,

 \sf =  \frac{ - b}{2a}
