Under the strong leadership of Lenin, Bolsheviks took control of all the property under the state control and distributed it among poor farmers in Russia. They ensured better conditions for labourers which meant limited working hours and better pay. Free education was given to adults under a system of evening classes. Lenin also took several steps for educating women along with male counterparts.
