The S.L. unit of calorific value of a fuel is generally not used. Why?

Calorific value provides the amount of energy that is released when a fuel or material undergoes the process of combustion. The SI unit (international system of units) of calorific value is Joule/Kg or Kilo Joule/Kg. The SI unit is only one . So the answer is kJ/kg.
