Let the salary of the 1 month be 2x

Let the salary of the 2 month be 4x

Let the salary of the 3 month be 5x

2x × 4x - 4x × 5x = 48000000

8x^2-20x^2=48000000

12x^2=48000000

x^2=48000000/12

x^2=4000000

×=4000000 in the square root

x=40000

THEREFORE, second month 4x= 4×2000=80000

The salary earned by a man for 3 months is 2:4:5. If the difference between the product of salaries of last two months to that of first two months is Rs. 48000000, then find the salary for the second month.

\underline{\tt{Answer:}}

Let the salaries for the months be = 2x, 4x, 5x

Difference between the product of the last two and the first two salaries = \bf{(5x \times 4x) - (4x \times 2x)}

The equations comes out to be :-

=》 \tt{4(5x^{2} - 2x^{2}) = 48000000}

=》 \tt{3x^{2} = 12000000}

=》 \tt{x = \pm 2000}

Since, salaries can't be negative, the value of \bf{x = Rs. 2000}

Second month salary = 4x = \huge{\tt{Rs. 8000}}
