Solution :

The scale on a map is

1 cm in map = 20,000 original length

1 cm × 1 cm = 20000 × 20000

It is given that ,

area of the lake in map

= 1.6 cm²

= 1.6 × ( 20,000 )²

= 1.6 × 4 × 10^8

= 6.4 × 10^8 square units
