Given:- The second angle of a triangle is twice as large as the first. The third angle is 50° less than the second.

To Find:- The measures of the angles .

Answer:- Let us take the first angle be x . Then the second angle be 2x . So , the third angle will be 2x-50° . We know that the angle sum property of a triangle is 180° .

⇒ x + 2x + 2x - 50° = 180° .

⇒ 5x - 50° = 180° .

⇒ 5x = 180° + 50°

⇒ 5x = 230°

⇒ x = 230°/5

x = 46° .

Hence ,

  • 1st angle = x = 46°
  • 2nd angle = 2x = 92°
  • 3rd angle = 2x-50°=42°

Hence the angles are 46° , 92° & 42°.
