Dear friend,
Here's your answer...
second term of the AP is 4 => a + d = 4...(i)
Seventh term of the AP is -11 => a+ 6d = -11...(ii)
Sixteenth term => a + 15d = ?
Subtracting eqn. (ii) from eqn. (i),
a + d = 4
a + 6d = -11
- - +
..............................
-5d = 15
d = 15/ -5 = -3
Putting value, d = -3 in eqn. (i)
a + d = 4
a + (-3) = 4
a = 4 + 3
a = 7
Therefore, sixteenth term = a + 15d = 7 + 15* (-3)
= 7 - 45 = -38
