Indirect/Reported Speech refers to a dialogue being said to a third person/reporting what happened to a third person.

Example: Maryse said,"I love flowers." (Direct)

Maryse said that she loved flowers. (Indirect/Reported)

In the above example, when writing in indirect/reported form, the sentence changes according to it's tense. Also, modifications regarding certain words like 'today' changes to 'that day', 'may' changes to 'might', 'you' changes to 'I', 'yesterday' changes to 'the previous day', 'will' changes to 'would' and many other words will have to be made.

He said to me,"Do you do it?" (Direct)

He asked me if I did that. (Indirect/Reported)

Hope it helps :)
