for the first case the shadow will be in the shape of a rectangle aur sheet and in the second case the shadow will be in the form of a circle.

Explanation:

  • a shadow is formed when a source of light is prevented from passing through by an opaque object. Here the shape of the shadow is determined by the type of the structure.
  • First case has a rectangular surface which prevents the light to pass through. Hence the shadow will be like a sheet on the second case the circular cross section of the cylinder prevents the light to pass and hence the shadow will be circular
