Answer:

Explanation:

When the author of the story Shoeshine was standing outside the Tea House in Connaught Circus Delhi and was wondering about his affordability of having a plate of potato chips and a cup of coffee, suddenly a shoeshine boy came near him and put his shoe box in front of the author.

The shoeshine insisted the author to go for a shoe polish. The author looked at the boy and replied that he could not afford to have one as he had no money. The boy was shocked to hear this and told the author that he need to shell as low as four annas to get his shoe polished.

The author told the boy that since he had no job it was difficult for him to get the shoe polished. The shoeshine suggested that he should go for a shoe polish as it gives a good impression in front of the boss as no one like to see a dirty pair of shoes.

Hope this helps.
