The side of a rectangular park are in the ratio 4.3 if the area is 1728 m find the cost of fencing it at rs 2.50

Let side be x

Length = 4x
Breath = 3x

Area = 1728 m^2

1728 = 4x * 3x
1728 = 12 x^2
1728/12=x^2
x^2= 144 m
x= √144
x= 12

Length = 4 × 12= 48
Breath = 3 × 12 = 36

Perimeter of park = 2(L+B)
Perimeter = 2 ( 48+36)
Perimeter = 168 m

Cost of fencing 1 m = Rs 2.5
Cost of fencing 168 m = 168×2.5 = Rs 420

Correction in Question :- 1728 m^2 is written wrong as 1728 m



As we know that :-

Area of a Rectangle = length×breadth

Now,

Let the length be 4x and breadth be 3x

According to the provided information,

Area= 1728 m^2

(4x)×(3x) = 1728

12x^2 = 1728

x^2 =  \frac{1728}{12}

x^2 =144

x =  \sqrt{144}

x= 12 m

Then,

Length of given rectangle =4x 
                                         = 4*12 
                                         = 48 m
breadth of rectangle = 3x 
                                 = 3*12 
                                 = 36 m



perimeter of rectangle= 2(length + breadth)

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(36+48)

Perimeter of rectangle =  2*84 = 168 m

Now,

cost of fencing = 2.50 × perimeter 

Cost of fencing = 2.5 ×168

Cost of fencing = Rs 420
