Side of regular Pentagon= 12 cm
perimeter = 12×5 = 60cm

now it is converted to a rectangle of width 12cm
let its length = l

Perimeter= 2(l+12)
60 = 2(l+12)
60 = 2l + 24
2l = 60-24 = 36
l = 36/2 = 18cm

length of rectangle= 18cm
width of rectangle = 12 cm

area = length×width = 18×12 = 216 cm^2

area of new rectangle is 216 cm^2

pboveralls: thank you a lot TPS. Genuis!
TPS: you are welcome:)

 total length=5*12=60cm
rectangle of side a, 12cm=2a+12+12=60
a=18cm

area=a*12=18*12=216 cm²
