Area of a square =(side)²

Side = 5 cm

Area =( 5)² =25cm²

If side is doubled then ,

5*2= 10 cm

Area = (10)² = 100 cm²

100/25 = 4

So the area increases by 4 times when the side is doubled.

Side Of Square = 5cm

Side Of New Square = 2(5cm) = 10cm

Area of new square =10×10 = 100 = 4

Area Of Original Square 5×5 = 25 = 4

Hence, Area Of New Square Becomes 4times Of the Original Square if it's side is doubled.
