Side of square field=y

distance covered by 1 round=

Perimeter of square field = 4×side

=4×y

distance for 5 rounds=5×perimeter

=5×4×y

=20y

The Person Will Walk 20y Meters In Making 5 Rounds Of The Field.

GIVEN

Side of the square = y meters

Total number of rounds = 5

TO FIND

Total distance covered by the person.

SOLUTION

We can simply solve the above problem as follows -

it is given,

The person takes 5 rounds of the field.

So, the distance covered by Taking 1 round of the field will equal the perimeter of the field.

Side of square = y meters.

We know,

perimeter \: of \: the \: square \: = 4a

where,

a = side of the square

putting the value in the above formula, we get,

The perimeter of the field = 4y meters.

Now, this value is equal to the distance covered in 1 round.

Distance covered in 5 rounds = 5×4y = 20y meters

Hence, the person will walk 20y meters in making 5 rounds of the field.
