New Side of square field = 16 + 4
= 20m.

Area of Square = Side × side

= 20 × 20

= 400m^2.

New side of Square = 16 × 2
= 32m.

Area of Square = 32 × 32

= 1024m^2.

Answer:

Side of the square=16m,

uared⇒original area of the square=16*16=256msquared

In case(1), each side is increased by 4m

⇒side of the square will be =16m+4m=20m

⇒area of the square by this side=20*20=400msquared

So, increase in its area in the first case=(400-256)msquared =144msquared   Ans.

In case (2),each of its is doubled

i.e., side of the square =16*2=32msquared

⇒area of the square by this side=32*32=1024msquared

So, increase in its area in the second case=(1024-256)msquared  =768msquared  Ans.
