Correct Question

  • The side of triangle are in the ration 4: 5: 6 the perimeter of the triangle is 45cm. Find the length of each side of the triangle.

Given

  • Ratio of the sides of a triangle is 4:5:6.
  • Perimeter of the triangle is 45cm.

To find

  • Length of each side of the triangle.

Solution

  • We have the ratio of all three sides of the triangle. Let the ratio be x.

\tt\longrightarrow{First\: side = 4x}

\tt\longrightarrow{Second\: side = 5x}

\tt\longrightarrow{Third\: side = 6x}

We know that, perimeter of the triangle is sum of all sides of the triangle.

According to the question

\tt\longmapsto{4x + 5x + 6x = 45}

\tt\longmapsto{15x = 45}

\tt\longmapsto{x = \dfrac{45}{15}}

\tt\longmapsto{x = 3}

  • By putting the value of x

\rm\longrightarrow{First\: side = 4x = 12cm}

\rm\longrightarrow{Second\: side = 5x = 15cm}

\rm\longrightarrow{Third\: side = 6x = 18cm}

Hence,

  • All three sides of the triangle are 12cm, 15cm and 18cm.
